Job description

  • Perform navigation duties as required of a Officer of the watch
  • Operate the MODU’s station-keeping system according to the approved DP operations manual and Company policies and procedures
  • Understand and adhere to Well Specific Operating Guidelines (WSOG) as agreed to by the Company and the Client
  • Understand the impact of DP operations/activities on drilling operations
  • Understand and monitor the MODU’s stability
  • Operate the Ballast Control system if required (vessel specific)
  • Operate and understand all critical marine safety systems: i.e. fire control system, drill floor deluge, ESD, Fire & Gas (F&G)
  • Monitor Bridge alarms including DP system, VMS, and F&G, and respond accordingly
  • Assist Chief Mate/Master with deck operations; liaise with deck crew during workboat operations
  • Maintain checklists and log books as required
  • Perform Emergency Response duties and responsibilities as stated on the Station Bill and ER

Job requirements

Job specific requirements:

  • STCW OOW Deck II/1 >500gt (Unlimited)
  • STCW GMDSS Radio Operator Certificate CoC (IV/2)
  • STCW ECDIS General (Reg II/1 and II/2)
  • Ballast Control Operator certification, oir Stability 2 for Semi Submersible, highly recommended,
  • Valid certification as Dynamic Positioning (DP) Operator from the Nautical Institute or other acceptable DP certifying entities
  • Valid (within last 24 months) STCW medical examination
  • Current valid OPITO approved BOSIET
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in the Maritime industry
  • Communicate complex or technical matters to people with limited background in subject
  • Technical writing skills; interpersonal and supervisory skills
  • Current Passport
  • Must have current Work Rights in Australia
