Atlas Professionals have an urgent opening for the temporary position of Accommodation Technician to work in the United Kingdom for 3 weeks work starting ASAP on a Semi-Submersible Accommodation vessel.
We are looking for a Hydraulic Mechanic to Join an Accommodation vessel in the UK on 3rd June to start a 3/3 rotation until September time.
The Hydraulic Mechanic is part of the Engineering Team reporting to the First Engineer and is responsible for the Hydraulic Equipment and Machinery on the vessel. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, fault finding and repair (down to component level), inspection & testing on hydraulic systems. Management of maintenance, repair and testing will involve use of the company computerised maintenance system ‘SIS Star’ for planning, report writing and spare management. The role will also involve identifying and ordering correct hydraulic spares and managing the hydraulic workshop and store. The main equipment on the vessel consists of medium to heavy Cranes (Liebherr), Anchor Winches (RRM / Brattvag) and also light hydraulic systems such as boat davits, bilge & ballast controls, watertight doors, hose reel drives etc. In addition to looking after the hydraulic systems the Hydraulic Mechanic will be required to work with the rest of the Engineering team on Marine engineering maintenance repair tasks as required.
Experience & Skills
Extensive experience working with medium to heavy cranes and anchor winches in a marine environment ( Liebherr & Brattvag equipment experience desirable)
Extensive experience working with high and low pressure hydraulic systems, servo systems / controls and electro hydraulic control systems
Experience with variable flow hydraulic pumps and motors, trouble shooting, minor repairs, and system inspection and testing.
A good understanding of Offshore HSEQ systems and Safety Environment relative to role. Experience of working using Permit to Work, Task Risk Assessment and Isolation procedures. Also a good understanding of Safety relative to role, particularly Safety Critical and High Pressure systems.
Self-motivated with Ability to work alone or as part of the engineering team.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Ability to prioritise jobs depending on the operational requirements changing at short notice.
Formally approved completion of a recognised trade certification in Mechanical or Marine Engineering (apprenticeship or cadetship etc)
Formally approved and recognised certification for working with high pressure hydraulics and control systems
Any further certification or training approval issued by medium to heavy hydraulic system manufacturers would be highly desirable.
The professional will also be required to hold offshore certification including FOET, CA-EBS, MIST, Shoulder Measurements and OGUK Medical.
We are looking for a Motorman to join a Semi-submersible accommodation vessel in the North sea, on 2nd June on a 3/3 rotation until September 2021.
For the vacancy, professionals are required to have previous experience as a Motorman on semi-submersible vessels and hold the following certification:
- All Offshore certification (FOET, CA-EBS, Bi-Deltoid Measurements, MIST)
- CoC Engine Room watch Rating III/4
- All STCW Manila Amendments (PST, FPFF, AFF and Survival Craft Rescue Boats)
- OGUK medical and Seafarers Medical
