Job description

In the position of Deputy Offshore Construction Manager you are responsible for the correct project execution. The DOCM is overall responsible for all project activities performed on site with regard to the safe and efficient execution of cable installation, pull-in and electrical installation.

  • Responsible for the execution of project site activities liaising with the project manager onshore, ensuring that all project activities are performed according to the various clients and company specifications, and that all project activities are performed in an efficient way;
  • Responsible for the execution of cable installation and trenching activities;
  • Responsible for the daily operational meeting to plan and coordinate the daily operations;
  • Responsible for the mobilization and use of project specific third party hired services and equipment onboard;
  • Ensure project personnel onboard are qualified for the job and receive a project and safety induction;
  • Establish and maintain a good working environment onboard and safeguard personnel welfare;
  • Conduct tool box talks and as applicable job safety analysis in accordance with project plans, maintaining communication with all parties in the event that any procedures or operating conditions change, endorsing pre-work checklists and site permits as required;
  • Prepare and arrange for all administrative tasks on project base, as required;
  • Participate in onshore jobs as part of operations.

Job requirements

  • You must have a technical background in mechanical, electrical or civil engineering;
  • BSC level achieved through formal education or alternatively gained by work experience, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the marine and on- offshore industry;
  • Experience in project management and preferably cable installation;
  • Fully conversant in English verbally and in writing is a must

  • OGUK Medical & Chester Step Test
  • Security Awareness Seafarers
  • CSCS Card/VCA
  • Rigging & Banksman/Slinger certificates
  • Confined Spaces
