For our innovative Walk-to-Work and dive support vessels, we are looking for a Crane Operator with Ampelmann crane experience (or willing to get these certificates). Equipped with a motion compensated gangway, knuckle boom crane and a DP system, these vessels incorporate many advanced electronics, network equipment and installations

Job description

The vessels allow service and maintenance staff to work on several different platforms during one voyage and accommodate hotel facilities, workshops, cargo and spare part storage. The ships operate 24 hours 7 days a week in the North Sea.

On our Walk-to-Work vessel a Motion Compensated Crane is installed. This heave/pitch-roll compensated crane has specific technical features which are new in the industry. As a Crane/Gangway Operator (Deck Foreman) it is your job to:

  • operate the crane to perform lifting duties at sea and on platforms
  • execute small maintenance on the crane
  • manage the deck jobs and maintenance.

Besides that you are the Person in Command (PIC) of the motion compensated (MC) gangway. The MC gangway is in use to transfer service and maintenance staff to the platforms of Onegas. In close cooperation with the deck department and engineers, it is your job to:

  • operate the MC gangway
  • ensure safe transfer of the service and maintenance staff to and from the platforms
  • monitor whether the equipment is used safely and correctly
  • execute small preventive and corrective maintenance for the installation on hydraulic-, electric- and mechanical equipment.

If you are working on our dive support vessel you operate the offshore rated crane(s) in close coop with dive supervisor and deck officers.

Job requirements


  • Valid Passport
  • Valid Offshore Medical examination certificate
  • Valid Nogepa 1.2 Crane Operator Stage 3
  • Ampelmann PIC or willingness to get these certificates
