Our client is looking for an RTK Technician for work in Taiwan

Start Date: early May 2021

Duration: 2 weeks 

Location: Taichung, Taiwan

SOW: Commission and set up RTK on offshore platform, at least 3 trips required out to 'Jacket' (a large platform base with railings).

Trip 1: Set up and mobilise RTK syste, and start data logging

Trip 2: Collect logged date for processing

Trip 3: Configure RTK with position, and ensure this is being broadcast

No communications are available at the Jacket (40km offshore - no mobile / wifi available)

Job requirements

Candidate must have the following skill set / experience:

• Competent using and operating Trimble RTK Systems and Radio transmitting system (Trimble RTK K9, and Trimble Radio TDL450H)
• RTK commissioning and set up 'out of the box', wiring, connecting
• Installing and Mounting antennas and aerials
• Connecting to RTK via network cable to laptop, and setting up the system
• Starting the date logging to determine GPS position
• Collecting the data after logging, and able to send for processing
• Installing a 'config' file
• Problem solving and troubleshooting mindset (due to the remote location, support will not be available)

• Valid GWO Basic Training or BOSIET (OPITO) issued within 2 years, with valid GWO 'Working at Height' and 'Manual Handling' modules
• Valid Chester step test, level 35 or Valid Cycle ergometry test
• Valid OGUK Medical
