Role Overview

It is required that recently trained personnel will require to be mentored on early work until an assessor considers that sufficient competence has been demonstrated to deem the person competent for the task. The assessment standard achieved is to be inserted within the table against the required competencies and must take into account all of the required tasks within the role description.

Maintenance of competence status must be reviewed by department leads on an Annual basis as part of the annual appraisal process.

  13. Mud Gas Separator
  14. Flexible Hoses
  15. Slip Joint & Riser System
  16. Riser Tensioner System and Riser Recoil System
  17. BOP Crane and BOP Transport
  18. BOP Lifting Tools
  19. BOP Test equipment and Recorders
  20. Maintenance System

Role Description - (Task Set Definition)

  • Conduct external visual inspection of MUX Subsea BOP and BOP Control equipment items.
  • Conduct internal visual inspection of Subsea BOP and BOP Control equipment systems.
  • As required, witness conductance of dimensional inspection of MUX Subsea BOP equipment i.e. cavity clearances.
  • Witness functional and pressure tests of MUX Subsea BOP and BOP Control equipment items and safety systems

Required Competencies within Task Set

  • Familiarity with MUX Subsea BOP and BOP Control Systems equipment condition assessment and ability to identify issues with equipment items.
  • Familiarity with Subsea BOP equipment and systems installation.
  • Ability to identify issues with system installation.
  • Ability to review and understand MUX Subsea BOP equipment Operating, Maintenance Manuals and related Technical Drawings.
  • Ability to witness MUX Subsea BOP and BOP Control equipment during functional and pressure testing and identify whether the equipment is operated in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) procedures, API Standards and functions in accordance with Rig specific OEM Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
